Romsey is in the heart of test Valley surrounded by beautiful countryside. The town dates back to the 8th century when workers were smelting iron on the slope below the current Town Hall.
Follow the trail around Romsey and learn more about the history of the town, from the 10th century Benedictine abbey to some of the town centre buildings and streets that have played a part in the story.
The trail begins at the Visitor Information Centre where you can pick up a leaflet that will guide you round the town and through the history of this lovely town. The leaflet is accompanied by an audio trail which can be downloaded using a smart phone. Just scan the Romsey Heritage Trail QR code on the back of the leaflet.
